Flexibility and Perspective.

After so much change and so much time at a slower pace, I came to realize what was most important to me, and then I re-prioritized my life so I had MORE of it and not just fleeting moments.

Updating your resume can feel like a very daunting task, kind of like cleaning out your closet after a long time.  Where do you even begin?  What do you keep? 

I always tell my candidates just focus on the names and numbers. Keep it cute and simple.

Here I am referencing too many job offers, but clearly, this stands in many areas of our lives. Too much candy (a delicious thing), can lead to cavities (a bad thing). The job hunt is no different, ESPECIALLY in the market that we are in today.

Personally, I had a tough start to the new year. When February ended I felt hopeless. My negative thoughts had me spiraling. On March 1st, it was like I snapped into focus and spit out “this is my Magical Month of March where Miracles happen”.

This is kind of like a fairytale work story, but it actually happened in real life. “Greenlights” are the moments in time that change the course of your life, and these were the series of moments that changed mine.

Overwhelm and that never-ending ‘to-do’ list is the catalyst for the perpetual spiral of “where do I even begin?”. If you are going into a day or week where it feels like you have a million things to do and you are starting to panic about where to begin and how you will get it done, I recommend you do this..

When I first started in the recruiting business, the old-school way of recruiting just didn’t sit right with me. I slowly started taking my own approach, the only approach I have ever known to be open, honest, warm, and welcoming. And guess what, it worked.
