I was talking to a candidate yesterday and made fun of myself for my ‘woo woo and yogi’ approach to recruiting.

When working with candidates and hiring managers, I talk a lot about recruiting, hiring, and interviewing in a much more ‘touchy-feeley’ way. I focus the conversation on how we feel about things, what our gut tells us, and how to make decisions feel more authentic and true.

I am a HUGE fan of self-help, self-development, and all the experts and visionaries in this space. Gabby Bernstein, has been one of my favorite teachers throughout the years and I have been listening to her a lot as of late.

One of her lessons around manifestation is to ‘have more fun! The more fun you have the more you will become a magnet for what you really desire’. This has really stood out to me lately, especially with the changes and uncertainty of the market we are in.

This concept of ‘having more fun now to attract what you want’ always sounded a little backward to me.

I always thought of fun coming AFTER I achieve the thing, get the job, earn the deal, and make the money. I work hard first, drive myself into the ground, and ONCE I achieve the goal, THEN I can celebrate and have fun.

What she is teaching is quite the opposite. If you have more fun now, then you will attract what you want faster.

When I really listened to her teachings I understand it as:

  1. See your life for how great it is today. Be present in this very moment and enjoy it.
  2. Live life fully right now, don’t push off the fun and happiness for one day.
  3. Approach the law of attraction with a feeling

You may be in the middle of what feels like a never-ending job search, you may be finishing out a doctorate program, looking for a house, or paying off your debt. Whatever it is, and wherever you are, look at what you are working towards and ask yourself:

How can I have more fun with this?

How can I make this more enjoyable and less painful?

How can I love the moment I am in?

This is not an easy thing to do, but it is a choice you can make. We can choose to be happy and have fun, OR we can be miserable instead. The choice is yours.

Even if you don’t believe in the law of attraction, at the very least it makes the process of going towards your goals more enjoyable and less of a grind.

Sounds a little fun doesn’t it? 😉
