So you’re a Series A–C company, just landed funding, and now? You need to scale.. fast. Opportunities are knocking, momentum’s building, and you need butts in seats to keep the fire going.
Not a bad problem to have.

But when it comes to hiring top talent, time is not on your side.
You’ve got hundreds of applicants to sift through (no exaggeration), so you bring in a recruiting agency like mine to help.

Smart move.

Then… maybe you add another agency.
Then another.
Because more recruiters = more candidates = faster hires, right?

Yes… and no.

Sure, more people get contacted.
But there’s a hidden cost to flooding the market with your role.

Here’s what actually happens:

  • Candidates start getting hit by everyone about the same job.
  • The opportunity starts to feel generic, overexposed, and… cheap.
  • You lose control of the message and the first impression.

I hear it all the time:

“You’re the 4th recruiter to hit me up about this.”
“I already talked to someone weeks ago… and never heard back.”

Oof.

When that happens, I have two questions:

  1. Did the first recruiter even try? Did they pitch the role in a way that made it feel exciting or just drop a link and ask “Interested?” (Cringe.)
  2. Is the best candidate now off-limits to someone who actually would take the time to engage them well?

Too many cooks spoil the search.
And I’m seeing great roles stay open way too long because of this messy pile-on approach.

Here’s the fix:

Treat your recruiting partners like true partners.
Give them the space (and exclusivity) to represent your brand with care.
Because that first impression? It matters.. a lot.

So ask yourself:

Is your job opening coming across as exclusive and enticing or easy and forgettable?
